Guthans is only good for tanking. Its defence bonuses are between dragon and 3rd age, and is also the best armour to give strength bonuses. Bandos armour does not degrade. Bandos, often referred to as the Big High War God, was the god of war. A very powerful, manipulative and bloodthirsty entity, known for taking pleasure in conflict and slaughter, he demanded worship and unquestioned obedience. Compared to Bandos tassets, obsidian platelegs have far worse defensive stats just slightly less than rune platelegs , lack of prayer bonus, and give 1 less Strength bonus.
However, obsidian armour is significantly easier to obtain. Bandos gives an extra strength and prayer bonus, Dragon just has better defensive stats except for range. It all comes down to your opinion really, but I personally would go with bandos.
Faster than a speeding bullet! However, the item will be unusable and must be repaired with 50, coins by using the item on Perdu or an Armour stand in a PvP world.
The Granite body and helm have slightly better bonuses than their rune counterparts and all the pieces have very high ranged Defence. General Graardor is one of the most popular of the five God Wars Dungeon bosses to kill, as he is arguably one of the easiest, but players should not take him too lightly.
It is the best armour in RuneScape to provide Melee and Ranged defence bonuses , as well as having a damage-reducing set effect. Ce ne sont que des gueux. I'd suggest either getting Torag's or Dharok's for melee armor. Bandos may be situationally worth the extra price, but I've always preferred more all-around useful armor.
Also, Dharok's plate and legs are more aesthetically pleasing IMO. I like Torag's helm better, but I usually do a non-Barrows helm unless I'm using the set bonus. As for the set weapons, Dharok's axe has good slash and great crush and strength but has 2H speed; Torag's hammers have OK crush, and the strength and speed are comparable to a D long in which case you should just use a D long--or a better one-hand weapon like a whip or D Scimmy--and a defender. And for prices, it is worth noting that Dharok's set is 3x-4x more expensive than Torag's.
This price difference comes almost entirely from the difference in the prices of the helms. If you want both offensive and defensive capability with and without the set weapon and a good set bonus, and don't mind paying extra for it, Dharok's is the way to go. If you have a good amount of money to toss around, I'd say mix Torag's with a Bandos Chestplate and Boots and use the Godsword of your choosing.
The tl;dr of the tl;dr: Dharok's is much more useful and has comparable defense to Torag, but is more expensive. Bandos will be more useful for GS'ing exclusively, Barrows for everything else. The tl;dr of the tl;dr of the tl;dr: Get Dharok's. Long ago, the '90s Nicktoons lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the century turned. Only Avatar , the best of the 's Nicktoons, could save them. The Fighter Torso is actually one of the single best melee armors in the game.
Even if you can afford a Bandos Chestplate, the torso is actually an item needed for some Master Clue Scrolls.
It may be worth your time to obtain it for that reason too. It is the best armour in RuneScape to provide Melee and Ranged defence bonuses, as well as having a damage-reducing set effect. The justiciar armour also provides a significant amount of Prayer bonus.
However, it has very high penalties for Magic and Ranged accuracy. The Bandos chestplate is a part of the Bandos armour set, which requires 65 Defence to wear. Unlike the other body armours which provide a strength bonus, the Bandos chestplate also has substantial defensive bonuses.
Bandos armour is a set of armour that requires 65 Defence to wear. Benefit vs pricetag vs that of the bandos chest. Maybe not, but he can wear a guthan set, and if the OP can make the money for bandos, I don't think making the money for guthan's would be a massive problem, on top of somewhere in the argument we did regress to stating the case for a typical slayer rather than specifically just the OP. No, an item costing more money is not necessarily better, but when asking the question it is only right to compare, in my eyes , the parts of the bandos set against other items which use a worn slot on the same body part.
And you've pointed out the strength bonuses aren't as good as I see them to be, that may be so, but then take into factor the overall bonuses given by bandos compared against the berserker ring. No, I wasn't. I could partially grant you that, but it looks to me like that takes it down to a matter of total personal preference on what do you class as a compromise, are you compromising yourself if you swap a godsword for a whip in the name of getting a bandos set?
And that just renders the entire thread moot. Torso in place of bcp and skirt in place of tassets. Well sure except that torso isn't worth getting, so I wouldn't include it in most setups.
