My son was feeding our guinea pigs tonight and found shreds of blue plastic in the hay. I usually always buy Oxbow's Orchard Grass hay because it's soft and fluffy and can maintain a fluffy shaped pile for awhile for my guinea pigs to run around and play in, but the last box I ordered the 9lb was so dusty and had just tiny cuts of orchard grass, so it doesn't stay fluffed up at all.

I figured I just got unlucky with the box and ordered a 2nd one, but it was the same unfortunately. If I get a 3rd one this way, I'll be switching brands. I try to find which hay they prefer, it is the Orchard hay!

I thought the hay would be a better quality that the Timothy hay product. Seems just as dry and brittle. The Guinean pig leaves most of it on the bottom of the cage. Does anyone suggest a better hay brand? The quality of the bulk boxes is slightly lower but they are upfront about the smaller bags being hand selected. I get it. No issues there. Perfectly acceptable. I sealed the box back up and will transfer the hay and shake off the dust in to another box outside to fix.

I have found this brand to be the best among many other brands that I have tried for my guinea Timmy. Much fresher and cleaner compared to others. My Tummy loves it.
